Bamson Company helps University of Ghana Medical School

Bamson Company Limited, local representative of Crown Paints and Sandtex Paints of UK, has donated 50 buckets of emulsion paints to the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS).

Presenting the paint, the Administrator of the company, Mr George Amoako Kyei, said the donation was in response to a request the company received from the UGMS.

He added that the request was in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, hence, their positive response to it. He said he was hopeful that the donation would help the school in painting some of its buildings to protect them from the effects of water and the sun.

Other officials of Bamson that were present included a Technical Instructor (Decorative Paints), Mr Patrick Nyarko, and sales accounts managers.

Receiving the paints on behalf of the school, the Secretary of the College of Health Sciences,, Mr Michael Opare Atuah, who represented the Provost of the college,
Reverend Professor Patrick F. Ayeh Kumi, expressed gratitude to the company for responding positively to the request made by the school. He promised that the school would use the paint for the purpose for which it was donated.

Some officials of the medical school and the college who were present at the presentation were the Dean of the school, Professor Margaret Lartey, the Administrator of the medical school, Ms Susie N.O. Lamptey, the Accountant of the School, Mrs Juliana Agyapong Lartey, Rev. Dr Tom Ndanu and the Assistant Registrar in charge of Public Affairs, Mr Augustine Amissare.

The University of Ghana Medical School is one of the constituent institutions of the College of Health Sciences. It is the premier medical school to be established in the country.

Bamson Company Limited during its 30th anniversary celebration in 2015 refurbished and painted the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre of the Korle Bu
Teaching Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility to support the centre’s efforts to offer excellent healthcare services.
