Ballifs take inventory at Osu Mantse Palace

It requested for the assistance of armed policemen to help the bailiffs to execute the order to forestall any breach of the peace.

After the bailiffs had carried out the order of the court, some youngmen, led by the spokesperson of the Osu Gyase, Mr Lawrence Quist, nailed the doors and windows to the palace, after which they hoisted red cloths on the facility.

Mr Quist later told the media that  the palace would be renovated to enable Nii Duwuona move into the palace.

Nii Dowuona, he said, had been gazetted as the Paramount chief of the area.

The order, Mr Quist explained, was made in 2008 but the other faction filed a stay of execution.

He said Nii Dowuona, however, challenged the action which made the other faction withdraw its application.

That, Mr Quist said, paved the way for the court to grant Nii Dowuona’s request for inventory of the items at the palace.

He said during the stock taking, one of the Black Stools was found to be missing from the palace.
