Youth urged to live upright lives

Ghanaian youth have been charged to stay away from negative behaviours that would jeapardise their future.

The Chief Executive Officer of Unique Trust, Mr Kofi Amoabeng, who made the call, asked them to be responsible and determine to strive for the best  to secure their future.

According to him, this would help them to achieve their goals in life.

He said this at the 9th graduation of the Ashesi University College.

Students who received the Magna Cum Laude awards included Nana Konadu Darko-Mensah, Edem Adzo Diaba and Delphina Kyeremateng.

Mr Amoabeng said graduates “will take charge of their lives or something or someone will take charge of it”.

He said as aspiring future leaders, graduates ought to have a dream and a purposeful ambition and plan towards achieving it.

In order to achieve their dreams, he urged graduates to seek guidance and help from elders and superiors through mentorship and apprenticeship.

They also have to discover their potentials and build their capacities.

He added that attitudes and character traits were fundamental to achieving goals, with determination and a good appreciation of adapting to change.

He charged them to commit themselves and their goals to God, who would shower mercy and grace upon all who sought Him.

Another speaker was the Provost of the university, Dr Marcia Grant, who  told the graduates to exploit their luck for it to smile on them.

In an interview, Nana Konadu Darko-Mensah, Edem Adzo Diaba and Delphina Kyeremateng, who received the Magna Cum Laude award, encouraged other young ladies to study hard, strive for the best, seek God’s favour and success would be their portion.
