School proprietor honours 20 personalities
THE Chief Executive Officer of Onua Francis International School and Young Executive School, Francis Essel-Okyeahene, last Sunday honoured 20 individuals who have contributed in various ways in the promotion of education in the Awutu Senya East municipality and the Gomoa East District, all in the Central Region.

They are media practitioners - Emmanuel Bonney of the Daily Graphic and Seth Ankomah Adjei, of Adom FM/TV.
The others, who are teaching and non-teaching staff of both schools are Faustina Mensah, Grace Buckman, Choice Gbologba, Yaa Antwiwaa Boadi, Jerome Antwi Amoabeng, Kobina Akornor, Eric Lamptey, Edna Ankobea and Eunice Addo.
The rest are Moses Fanbulley, Latif Umar, Michael Anseeku, Dorcas Doe, Eric Bayare Natoutti, Michael Zanu, Peter Kyeremeh, Ransford Lartey and Samuel Asamoah.
The recipients, who were honoured at the 60th birthday of Mr Essel-Okyeahene, were presented with refrigerators, flat screen television sets, four-burner gas cookers, a lap top computer, a plot of land and mobile phones.
Citations from Awutu Senya East Municipal and Gomoa East District education directorates, individuals and staff of the YES and Onua Francis schools, were presented to Mr Essel-Okyeahene for his contribution to quality education delivery in the country.
They, among other things, commended him for his foresight in the establishment of the two institutions to bring education to the doorsteps of the people in the Awutu Senya East and Gomoa East districts.
Taking their turns, the Gomoa East District Education Director, Francisca Esi Degraft Johnson and the Awutu Senya East Municipal Education Director, Faustina Alimatu Braimah, congratulated Mr Essel-Okyeahene for the work he had done in the area of education.
In a speech at the ceremony, a Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, said the proprietor needed to be commended for putting up massive education infrastructure that had enabled a lot of children in the country to have access to education.
Moreover, he said the provision of teaching and learning materials, information and communication technology facilities, discipline among students, academic excellence and the motivation of teaching and non-teaching staff, were quite unique and hallmarks of the two schools.
Government, he said, would continue to create an enabling environment for the private sector education and other areas to thrive.
For his part, Mr Essel-Okyeahene thanked the Almighty God for his attainment of 60 years and how far He had brought him, especially concerning the education of children.
“It is by the grace of God because some of us passed through difficulties before getting to where we are now.
It is by His grace and nothing else,” he said and urged all to be hopeful irrespective of their situation and then look up to God for a transformation of their lives.
