Accra Academy on Tuesday night narrowly missed the semi finals of the NSMQ 2023 to PRESEC, Legon.

They obtained 58 points as against that of Presbyterian Boys SHS, Legon's 63 points.

GSTS came third with 31 points.

The semi-finals promise thrilling matches, as Wesley Girls' High School, Achimota School, and St. Louis SHS, having already secured their positions, gear up for a showdown on Thursday, October 19, 2023. 

Additionally, Prempeh College, Pope John Minor Seminary SHS, and Opoku Ware, emerging victorious in their respective quarter-final contests, are set to face off in another semi-final clash.

Presec Legon, Ketasco and Mfantsipim School will face off in the third semifinal.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off on October 6, 2023. Notably, this year's NSMQ is making history by spanning across two regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. The Preliminary four stages are hosted at KNUST, culminating in the Grand Finale at the National Theatre, marking the first time the National Championship extends across two distinct venues.

Three Senior High Schools earlier earned their places in the semi-finals. Prempeh College, Pope John Minor Seminary SHS, and Opoku Ware emerged victorious in their respective quarter-final clashes on Monday.

NSMQ 2023: KETASCO boot-out Tamale SHS and Augusco to qualify for semi-finals

Prempeh College dominated their opponents Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHS with an impressive 34-point lead, securing 57 points compared to Mawuli's 33 points and Abetifi's 30 points.

Pope John’s SHS displayed their prowess, accumulating 48 points to triumph over St. James Seminary SHS and Presby SHTS, Aburi.

In a closely contested final quarter-final match, Opoku Ware School clinched their spot in the semis with 45 points, narrowly surpassing Osei Tutu SHS (43 points) and St. John’s School (18 points).
