Pastor Siakwan gave the advice at the inauguration of a GH¢19,768 church building for the people of Nagani in the Yendi Municipality in the Northern Region.

The project was funded through the effort of Elder Dr Paul Ayiku Agyeman of the Tema Community Three SDA Church, who led in soliciting funds for the facility.

Sermon

In a sermon, Pastor Siakwan said the church they had was a place where God would dwell with them, and that they should have respect for the church as a place of worship.

The chief of Nagani, Obor Jagri Wumbei, said he and his people were grateful to the North Ghana Mission for establishing the church in the area.

He said among the communities in the area, Nagani was the only people who lacked a school, water and health facility, and appealed to the church to provide them with these facilities.

The chief said they had only one borehole, which dried up in the dry season, and that it took the women hours to get water during such seasons.

He later presented assorted food items, including a quantity of guinea fowl eggs, to the North Ghana Mission of the church.

Gratitude

The Yendi SDA District Pastor, Pastor Daniel Gyemerah, expressed gratitude to individuals and groups that contributed to the establishment of the church, and asked for God’s blessings upon them.

The church also presented an envelope with undisclosed amount to the chief.

The North Ghana Mission presented a citation in honour of Dr Paul Ayiku Agyemang and his family and the other donors for their contribution in putting up a place of worship for the Nagani church.

During the dedication of the church, 13 members of the community made up of seven males and six females accepted Christ, and were to be baptized into the church.
