Zone Two defeated Zone One 2-0 to win the Principal’s Cup in the Boys Division at this year’s GT Bank sponsored competition at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.
In the Girls Division, Zone Four dethroned last year’s winners, Zone Two, after defeating them 2-1 to carry the day.
The Zone Two boys comprised students from the St Thomas Aquinas SHS, Labone SHS, Teshie Presbyterian SHS and ATTC, while Zone One was made up of players from Accra Academy, Christian Methodist SHS and Ebenezer SHS.
A goal each, scored by Ishmael Otutey and a second half spot kick expertly converted by Aggri Badu Owusu were enough to give the Zone Two boys the trophy.
In Zone Four, girls from Tema SHS and Our Lady of Mercy School edged out Zone Two (Accra Girls’ SHS, Accra High School, Labone SHS and Nungua SHS) by 2 goals to 1 in the girls’ final match.
The Best Goalkeepers for the boys and girls divisions, Michael Asante and Hannah Doku, were presented with GH¢1,000 each.
The other award winners were: Best Defenders, Obed Arhin and Nina Norshie; Best Players, Francis Davies and Jessica Lomo and Top Goal Scorers, Agyei Badu Owusu and Millot Pokua. Each of them took GH¢ 1,000 as their prizes.
