Juaso Model JHS steals show at Independence Day parade

The Juaso Model Junior High School (JHS) in the Asante Akim South Municipality of the Ashanti Region put up a splendid performance to the admiration of spectators at the recent Independence Day parade held at the Juaso Senior High Technical School Park.

A contingent of 30 students and two teachers, smartly dressed in the school’s Wednesday attire, marched gallantly and impressed the crowd and students who clapped ceaselessly for them.

During the event, the Asante Akim South Municipality Chief Executive, Mr Alexander Frimpong, presented a cheque for GH¢ 500 to Master Michael Yeboah, a former student of the school who was one of the recipients of this year’s President’s Independence Day Awards.

The awards were presented to students who excelled in last year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to the Head Teacher of the Juaso Model JHS, Mr Osborne Agyenim Boateng, Master Yeboah was the first person from the school to receive the President’s Independence Day Award.

Mr Boateng, who is also the Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in the municipality, said the award winner, currently a first-year student of Osei Kyeretwie SHS, had really made the school proud.

He expressed the hope that the school, in the years ahead, would win more awards.
