Koforidua Technical University marks 20th anniversary

The Koforidua Technical University (KTU) in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region has honoured 39 of its teaching and non-teaching staff at a brief ceremony.

The long service, as well as dedicated and meritorious awards and the retired staff recognition ceremony was the fifth to be held by the KTU and also coincided with its 20th anniversary.

"The KTU as a whole has undergone drastic transformation in the 20 years of its existence with a dedicated workforce," she stated.

The long service awards were targeted at staff who have rendered continued service to the university for 15 years and above.

"Let me emphasise that the award is not automatically given to staff who have worked here for 15 years and above but to those who really merit or deserve it. The labourer is indeed worthy of his reward. These staff members who we are celebrating today have helped to make the university's vision a reality. They have variously contributed to our new university status," she said.

Prof. Mrs Dzisi informed the gathering, made up of staff in various departments and invited guests that the university also considered it important to support the recognition of retiring members who had invested a significant portion of their careers at the KTU.

Anniversary cloth

The Vice Chancellor explained that the corporate cloth was designed as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the university to rebrand it.
