For the past eight years, the Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO), a highlife musical celebration, has been the ‘official’ event to herald the Yuletide.

So come Sunday, December 6, which also happens to be National Farmers’ Day, patrons of highlife music will be treated to a healthy serving of thrills at the National Theatre when it hosts MOGO.
The annual highlife concert organised by Citi 97.3 FM, will this year thrill its numerous patrons once again with a parade of some of the nation’s celebrated highlife musicians.
Artistes billed for the night are Awurama Badu, Samuel Owusu, Kwabena Kwabena, Kwaisey Pee, Tagoe Sisters, Sherifa Gunu and Kwame Yeboah and his ObY band.
Highlife has for many years served the people of Ghana and the world with a healthy serving of great music with its feet-moving style and melodies.
From individual homes, to families, neighbourhoods, through to the nooks and crannies of both rural and urban Ghana, highlife is a phenomenon that tears the tribal partition and gives true meaning to African unity.
To celebrate and keep the spirit of this renowned music genre alive, Citi 97.3 FM has over the years succeeded in leading Ghanaians to relive the past and inspire the future with MOGO.
MOGO is an annual Ghanaian musical concert, which brings together families, corporate institutions, individuals and lovers of highlife to celebrate genuine Ghanaian live band music.
Over the years, MOGO has been graced by artistes such as the legendary Osibisa Band, Lee Duodu, Paapa Yankson, Abrantie Amakye Dede, A.B Crentsil, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Ben Brako, Asabea Cropper, Paulina Oduro, Bessa Simons, George Darko among others.
