The theatre lover called Latif Abubakar

There are several things that vie for Latif Batalima Abubakar’s attention on daily basis though many who know him fairly well usually assume that his priority in life is theatre.
As a playwright and Chief Executive Officer at Globe Productions which focuses on theatre productions, event management and content development, few can be faulted for thinking that the only item constantly on Abubakar’s mind is theatre.

After all, his Globe Productions have over the last six years or so, put out attention-grabbing plays like Thank God for Idiots, Romantic Nonsense, You May Kiss the Corpse, Gallery of Comedies, The Second Coming of Nkrumah and What Can Come Can Come.

“My formal training is not in theatre but I have learnt a lot along the way and I’m still learning,” Abubakar says.
The man actually studied Project Management and is the CEO of Globe Management Institute, a training, management consultancy and business research firm in Accra. He is also the Director of a forex bureau.

“You cannot give up on something you love simply because that is not your main line of work. My background in project management always helps in my other activities and I feel blessed for that,” states Abubakar whose Second Coming of Nkrumah play was nominated in the Best Play category at the 2014 Ghana Movie Awards.
Actors that have appeared in work by Globe Productions include Ecow Smith-Asante, Adjetey ‘Pusher’ Annan, Benjamin Alcorn, Ofori Bismarck, Pearl Darkey, Paul Quarcoo, Richmomd Anaman, Christopher Seveh, Leslie Wallace, William Agbeti and Alexandra Bailey.
