The 11--track album is a rich blend of skill, featuring collaborations with veteran actor David Dontoh, U.K.-based multi-disciplinary artist T. Monterisi (T./MO), Ghanaian musician Yaw Stone, and Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong, also known as The Soulman.
Submission for eligible works, opened on July 17, 2024, closed on August 30, 2024.
To qualify, albums must have been released between September 16, 2023, and August 30, 2024.
An entry is a work that has been submitted for consideration. That entry is sent to members of the Recording Academy, assuming it meets criteria, to be voted on. From those votes, nominations for each category are derived.
This will be the second time Nana has submitted his work for Grammy nomination consideration.
In September 2022, his debut album Ponder was also considered for nomination at the 65th Grammy Awards, making history as one of the first works considered for the then-newly established Spoken Word Poetry Album of the Year category.
He remains optimistic about a favourable outcome this time and is actively seeking the support of Ghanaians to help him succeed.
“I am confident that this time, we have learned valuable lessons and gained the necessary experience to emerge victorious.
“I humbly appeal to my fellow Ghanaians to join me in prayers for our success. Together, with unity and determination, we can achieve the results we all desire,” he stated.
Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has triumphed three times at the Ghana Association of Writers’ Literary Awards, where he set a remarkable record in 2023 by securing first, second and third place simultaneously in the prestigious Kofi Anyidoho Spoken Word category.
