The shortlisted finalists in the region will perform live and with the help of listeners SMS and call-in votes, as well as judges’ input, the process will draw closer towards choosing winners who will be announced on Sunday, June 22.
Selected radio stations across the country are this year collaborating with MTN on the Hit-Maker programme. Most of them are drawing down the curtain on their selections for their regions.
The Western Region, for instance, is set to select its representatives by next Saturday. Skyy Power FM and Melody FM are the partners there.
Bob Gardiner, Chief Operating Officer at Melody FM told Showbiz his station was ready with its set of shortlisted to meet those chosen by Skyy Power for a showdown.
“Both sets of finalists will meet at Skyy’s Amphi Theatre and we would know the representatives before Saturday runs out,” Gardiner said.
Meanwhile, deadline for collection of demos at MTN Service Centres end next Saturday.
The competition’s three judges: Bessa Simons, Ofie Kodjoe and Zapp Malett will from Monday, June 24 at the Oak Plaza Hotel on the Spintex Road in Accra, start listening to the thousands of demos sent in and select the qualified demos to be invited for auditioning.
MTN Hit-Maker is a life-changing contest initiated by the telecoms company last year.
