You can’t laugh with me - Sarkodie to Shatta Wale

Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie says he is yet to define the relationship he has with dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale following the row between them.

According to Sarkodie, although he considers his relationship with Shatta Wale as real, he needs to be sure that Shatta was on the same page with him.

He said in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM that, following the release of his “My Advice” track in which he sought to give counsel to the “Gringo” hit-maker, he [Sarkodie] was yet to get in touch with him [Shatta Wale].

“We have not been in touch for a while…We need to straighten our relationship and see where we stand; if it is showbiz relationship or real relationship, because me, it has to be real,” he said.

Throwing light on the “My Advice” track, Sarkodie said the song was not meant to “diss” Shatta but like a friend, he only wanted him to “behave right” in order to preserve the friendship they had.

“It’s just like talking to a friend that you care about.  You only do it when you care about the person. It’s doesn’t come from hate. It comes out from frustration,” he said.

“If you know me, you would not be saying certain things about me. It has happened continuously. We have talked about it but it keeps coming because of this whole showbiz thing…it causes traffic. I know but we have friendships that we don’t play with. It’s not anything like hate. You can’t laugh with me, the next time, you will be on a certain platform talking about me.”
