The Enku Lenu artiste who won the Best International Act, Africa, in 2015 made the nominees list when it was officially announced on the BET   site on Monday.

With competitors such as Wizkid (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria), Tekno (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa), Mr Eazi (Nigeria), and Babes Wodumo (South Africa) in the category, there’s no doubt that Ghana’s Stonebwoy has a difficult chance of sailing through but his management thinks otherwise.

“Stonebwoy is a big brand in Ghana and beyond and his works will speak for him,” were the words of Sidi Mohammed, Burniton Music Group manager, when Showbiz contacted, him on the Baafira artistes chances of winning.

According to him, Stonebwoy was written off two years ago when he was nominated in the same category but he beat all the odds to emerge the winner and he’s confident he will repeat the same feat.

Past winners of the Best international Act, Africa apart from Stonebwoy are Wizkid who jointly won it with Sarkodie in 2012, Davido in 2014 and Black Coffee from South Africa grabbed it at last year’s edition.

American singer, Beyoncé is dominating this year’s list with seven nominations. The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker is followed by singer and songwriter, Bruno Mars, with five nominations.

Other nominees for the BET Awards 2017 are Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Chance The Rapper, Drake, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliot, Stormy, Venus Williams among others.
