Onyansapow Bowaanopow will 'Never Say Die'

It is for a very good reason that people live on the ‘never say die’ mantra as it helps to boost their confidence to overcome difficult situations.

US-based Ghanaian Hiplife artiste William Sessi known by the stage name Onyansapow Bowaanopow, believes the statement perfectly fits into a love story.

Giving evidence on his newest piece titled Never Say Die, the graduate of Takoradi Polytechnic takes listeners on a journey where his never give up spirit secured him a partner against all odds.

On the mid-tempo song, which flows on a catchy rhythm that takes listeners back to the 90s when Hiplife was the in thing, Onyansapow Bowaanopow tells of how family and friends discouraged him from pursuing his love interest.

To make matters worse, the lady in question didn’t want anything to do with him but as an Accra Hearts of Oak supporter who believes victory comes after many failed attempts, he put to practice the Never Say Die mantra and had luck smile on him when the lady gave in to his proposal.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, Onyansapow Bowaanopow said despite Never Say Die being a love material, the message it preaches is relevant to every area of life.

According to him, people, especially the youth, must have a never give up spirit since life doesn’t always present pleasant situations.

“As a musician, I believe that music should not all be about catchy beats but must be used to motivate. I hope that while people are enjoying the beautiful rhythm, they will also reflect on my love story which is practicable in every aspect of my life,” he said.

In April 2021, Onyansapow Bowaanopow released a single titled Nothing lasts Forever produced by Mix Master Garzy. He followed up with We Move and Fix It. Fix It was a campaign against bad leadership.

The artiste, who started music in 2002 during his time at Takoradi Polytechnic, has worked with the likes of Castro and Kwabena Kwabena. He expressed his confidence in the Ghanaian music industry saying, “Ghana has the talents, we just need the right system of promotion and then the world will hear of us,” he said.
