There has been so much talk about the comeback of Hiplife group, Bradez but they have ‘swerved’ fans for long.
The uncertainty about their reunion was heightened by the success one half of the group, Flowking Stone was enjoying with his solo career.
Now the doubt is over as the two brothers in real life have come back together. Flowking Stone and Kunta Kinte, hope to bring back that magic they made with songs like One Gallon, Simple, Dondoo with a new single, My Girl.
Produced by K.C Beatz, the Afro pop piece is also expected to officially introduce Kunta Kinte back to music after ill health took him away from the scene.
Their songs are often love themed and My Girl goes in that same direction. On the track, Kunta Kinte woos a woman and ‘raps’ her with praise of her physical attributes.
He also talks about his special feelings for her and how he wants her to stand out.
Kunta Kinte’s style of singing on the chorus and hook endeared him to many and that quality is still there.
Flowking Stone tells Showbiz they are working hard to regain their place in Hiplife music. “I know Ghanaians have missed us as a group so we had to prepare a good piece for them and I’m happy My Girl turned out just the way we wanted,” he stated.
Last year, Kunta Kinte released his single, Resurrection, to talk about his sickness but poor publicity killed it. Kunta is however hopeful the new single will give him the needed attention.
In the short period they were very active, Bradez made remarkable impact with their music which earned them awards.
Among them are the Most Popular Song of the Year award at the Ghana Music Awards in 2009 with Simple and Museke Online’s Award for West African Song of the Year in the same year.
They hope their reunion will bring them more recognition in the coming years.
