Go Black Stars, go

From a rather shaky start, the Black Stars of Ghana have managed to warm themselves into the 2015 AFCON tournament.

Not only that; they have also warmed their way into the hearts and minds of Ghanaians who are prepared to forgive them for their ‘sins’ in Brazil last year.

The rather wobbly start of the Black Stars in the tournament sent the wrong signals to their supporters who had followed them with their hearts and minds to Brazil but had to suffer disappointment.

Since then, the national team has come a long way, against the background of moves by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to re-structure the team and position it to re-enact the exciting gamesmanship of years past that made them the darling boys in every home.

In spite of the dog’s chance that a good number of Ghanaians gave the Stars, at least they have so far given a good account of themselves and shown that they have learnt from their mistakes and are returning to their winning ways.
