The launch of the TECNO N7 took place at the company’s head office at Darkuman in Accra.

It adds to the range of dual SIM phones by TECNO such as the TECNO N3 Smartphone, which has been on the market since last year.

The company’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Mounir Boukali, said at the launch that the TECNO N7 was designed for users who demanded more from their smartphones and would be available at all outlets of the company in the country.

He said the N7 product was built on the success story of the N3.

“It was our aim to empower the young African to acquire a Smartphone and to enjoy a smart life with the N3. Now, with the N7, we want to offer them a more superior smartphone with high-end performance and a better user experience,” TECNO Mobile’s PRO said.

The N7 is a dual SIM smartphone and comes with  Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a one gigabyte dual core central processing unit (CPU) and runs on a five-inch touch screen.

With a one GHz dual core processor, N7 offers users a fast data processing speed and the ability to use multiple applications at the same time.

Users of the device can download over 800,000 applications, according to Mr Boukali.

Its Flash Share software also allows users to share files of any format and size without the Internet WIFI or SIM card, he said.

He mentioned the five mega pixel rear camera with flash, a 0.3 mega pixel front camera and a high performing battery, which allows users to enjoy up to five hours of talk time, as some of the features of the phone that would endear it to users.

It also combines a four gigabyte (GB) ROM and 512 GB RAM with expandable memory of up to 32GB, Mr Boukali added.

TECNO offers an eight GB memory card for free to buyers, Mr Boukali said.

He added that the company would endeavour to provide suitable products to consumers based on market demand and “we will have more smartphones coming onto the market soon.”

The launch was attended by Friends of TECNO, including Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, a private legal practitioner based in Accra and Mr Charles Osei Adibey of Global Media Alliance.
