All roads lead to the Lizzy Sports Complex at East Legon this weekend as Melon Concepts holds the 13 edition of Selewa Cashless Market.

It’s going to be two days of discount shopping in a fun-filled environment as organizers of the premier pop up are promising up to 50% discount on goods purchased using a cashless method.

"We are chafed by the level of endorsement received from exhibitors and the various payment platform operators in the banking and telecom industries for our Cashless Market initiative," Said Mr Charles Badu, CEO of Melon Concepts.

"As a business, we believe a Cashless society is the way to go and it’s a great honour to be hosting industry giants such as MTN, Vodafone, Ecobank and UMB under one roof to help drive this agenda", he added.

This weekend’s market will witness over 80 vendors stocking a wide variety of local and foreign goods including apparel, beads, bags, shoes, African themed paintings and craft, natural skin and hair products, mother care products, books, canned grocery and so much more.

Apart from the amazing instant discounts lined up for shoppers who opt for cashless means of payment, shoppers can expect attractive prizes from the event sponsors in an hourly lucky dip to be conducted throughout the two-day market.

The market will be characterized by fun and entertaining activities which do not only help shoppers and vendors unwind but create a perfect atmosphere for socializing.

This weekend’s market will feature the King and Queen of Kizomba and Salsa in Ghana who will be offering free dance lessons on day one of the market and a special Kizomba competition on day two of the market.

Since its inception in September 2015, the organizers of Selewa Market, Melon Concepts, have successfully held 12 markets across the capital with the last six events being hosted by the Golden Tulip Accra Hotel.

The Selewa Cashless Market initiative is endorsed by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) and the current cashless channels supported at the market include GH-Link, E-Zwich, Visa, Mastercard, Ecobank Mobile, UMB Speed app, MTN MoMo and Vodafone Cash.

The market opens to the public at 10 am daily and entry is free.
