With about 80 per cent majority of the country’s working force falling under the informal sector, the production house said expanding education and sensitization through the electronic media, which is patronised by most of the people, would achieve greater successes.

They said the over-all development of the country’s economy could be boosted if factors that hindered SMEs, such as limited access to business development services, no business documentation or no business records, accessto financial services, limited market information, and limited use to ICT to enhance business operations, were removed through crafted dramas which those in the informal sector easily relate with.

“To do this, there must be mass sensitisation and education of entrepreneurs or potential entrepreneurs in continuous, sustainable and user-friendly manner,” the production firm said.

The television and radio sector has over the years exhibited productive ways in reaching the often dispersed and remotely located communities. The velocity and convinesncy at which information is transferred make it a preferable medium to reach out to these scattered people.

Synopsis

The TV and radio series will be woven around the dealings of business consultancies in imaginary offices close to market centres. The episodes are expected to showcase a dayto-day dealings in the business consultancy, as it exhibits good business etiquette and practices.

The drama will cover the entire spectrum of small and medium scale enterprises and a liberal vernacular (Akan) will be used to reach a wider audience since over 74 per cent of the total population in the country speak the Akan language.

There will also be interaction on the website of the production house and app to see the reaction of clients and other SMEs as to whether they are getting insight when they compare their situations to the trials, successes and how characters grow their businesses in the drama.

The shooting of the drama is, however, ongoing.

It will hit the screens of TV3 in the first week of December this year, followed by the radio series which is expected to commence in February next year on Adom FM, 106.3.
