Journal on IT & management launched

The maiden edition of the International Journal of IT & Management (IJICTM) has been launched in Accra.

The magazine was launched by the Founder and Chairman of the Academic City & IJICTM, Dr Kapil Gupta; the President of the Ghana Telecom University (GTUC), Prof. Osei Darkwa and Academic Head of Academic City, Dr Raju Sonavane.

The journal is supported by academicians and researchers from Ghana and abroad and provides a promising platform in shaping future research and development activities in both academia and industry.

It touches on fields ranging from Information Communication Technology (ICT) to management, among others.

The journal is an initiative of NIIT and Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) Ghana Think tank and Research Team.  

IJICTM is a high quality peer-reviewed journal devoted to the publication of original research papers in ICT and management and its broad range of applications. This provides a free platform for new research scholars and scientists to publish their original work on an international level.

The journal is an open access one in that all of its content are freely available without charge to any user or his or her institution.

Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search,or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.  An electronic version of the journal is also available on its website www.ijictm.org.  

Launching the journal, Dr Kapil Gupta said: “As the pioneers in IT and Management Education in Ghana, we have witnessed the evolution of IT and Management education through this important phase where the conventional modes of learning have been challenged as well as complemented by advances in enabled learning across platforms.”

“With our engagement with institutions of higher learning like NIIT, SMU, Sunderland University and The Open University (all overseas) as well as University of Education based in Ghana, it has been our constant endeavour to bring the latest IT and Management education to the doorstep of every Ghanaian and our West African neighbours,” he added.

The launch of the journal also coincided with the International Conference on Information Security and E-business (ICISeB).

Representatives from various government agencies, including the Ministry of Works and Housing, Youth and Sports and Communications were present during the launch and appreciated the effort of Academic City in creating a platform for future research in the country.
