Participating teams

The two-day competition, sponsored by Samir Group, marketers of car batteries and tyres, features nine male and female elite volleyball clubs in the Greater Accra Region which will be engaged in a round-robin contest.
El-Wak Wings will seek to retain their title as they face competition from Golden Hands from Teshie, Tema United, Blue Skies from Nsawam, Osu Youth, Model Club, Immanuel Presby from Madina, Town Council Line and La Pioneers.

Development of Volleyball
The Managing Director Samir Group, Mr Nazem Karroum, told the Daily Graphic that his outfit was committed to supporting the development of volleyball in the country.
“Volleyball is a huge sport in other countries. It is a great source of revenue for many countries and an avenue for job creation in those countries. We can replicate same in Ghana,” he stated.

Talent hunt
The Greater Accra Volleyball Association President, Mr George Tetteh, said the sport was growing in the region, hence the need to organise such competitions to unearth budding talents.
