He will be pursuing a course in Physical Education and Sports Management, and will be leaving after the national ranking tournament in August.
Abban, 19, who is with the Alisa Hotel Tennis Club, was discovered by Isaac Donkor through his annual tennis clinics. He is currently ranked 11th in the national seniors ranking.
The DTEF is owned by former national tennis player, Isaac Donkor, who organises annual tennis clinics to unearth young players for the sport.
The clinic is aimed at giving kids the opportunity to learn the basic rules of the game and also get acquainted with each other.
The foundation is also aimed at developing the talents of kids in the country through sports and education.
DTEF is currently constructing a tennis academy at Ayi Mensah in the Greater Accra Region which will have four courts — two clay courts and two concrete courts which will house selected talents, train and educate them for their development.
Selected talents will be given scholarships and will be camped in the academy to develop their talents.
