VIDEO: Jordan Ayew's spectacular strike in Swansea FA Cup

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for Swansea City in the third round of the FA Cup with a spectacular solo goal in a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ayew picked up the ball a few yards in front of the penalty box and went on a slaloming rum before cutting-in onto right foot and finishing past Wolves goalie Will Norris.

Diogo Jota came off the Wolves bench to level the scores, but Wilfried Bony'sclose-rangee winner three minutes later sealed the win.

It is only the third time three Welsh teams have made it to the fourth round of the competition.

Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal, who is only five games into his role, hailed Jordan Ayew's moment of brilliance:

In the five games I've been in charge we've won two, drawn two and lost one. This was the best match we've played, especially in the first half and we posed Wolves lots of problems.

We controlled the first 45 minutes, but after that the tempo was down. We let Wolves get a goal, but we got a second and then we closed the door and made it very difficult.

It was a great goal from Jordan and he deserves it. He is a fighter and works very hard for the team. I'm proud of my players and now we are building confidence and momentum.

– CARLOS CARVALHAL

It was Ayew's fourth goal in his last seven appearances, and seventh goal of the season in all competitions.

Swansea will now face League Two promotion contenders Notts County later this month. But before that, they face Liverpool on Monday in the Premier league as they look to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
