The Black Stars put aside concerns about the dissolution of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Iceland in an international friendly match at the Laugardalsvöllur Stadium on Thursday evening.

The Stars also defeated another World Cup-bound side Japan 2-0 last week and coach Kwasi Appiah would be delighted about the result after coming from behind.

Aberdeen midfielder Kari Arnason handed the host a 6th-minute lead converting from a corner kick.

Augsburg forward Alfred Finnbogason headed home a rebound from close range to make it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime.

However, Stars improved after the break and got just reward when Young Boys defender Kassim Nuhu pulled a goal back in the 61st minute after pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty box.

Atletico Madrid player and Stars Captain of the day Thomas Partey grabbed an equaliser in the 87th minute from Frank Acheampong's low cross.
