Thomas Partey: I'll sacrifice for Al Shabab

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has reflected on his Al Shabab debut following their goalless draw against Al Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League last Saturday.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who joined the White Lions as a free agent after parting ways with Spanish side Villarreal, came on as a 58th-minute substitute for Ali Al Asmari at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium.

Partey immediately brought composure to the middle of the park, displaying his signature positioning and distribution as both sides settled for a point.

Speaking after his first appearance in Saudi Arabia, the Black Stars deputy captain expressed satisfaction with the team’s display despite missing out on a win.

“I think it’s amazing and I like it. It’s my first game here and I thought we did great,” Partey said. “We could have scored, we had a chance to score, but well, it’s part of football. We have to just keep working hard and then try to get more points, and then three points in our next game.

I will do my best to give everything to this club and I am really happy to be here.”

The result handed Al Shabab their first point of the campaign after opening the season with a 3-1 home defeat to Al Qadsiah.

Partey will be pushing for his first start when Al Shabab host Al Riyadh at the Al Shabab Club Stadium tomorrow.--Panafricafootball
