Taekwondo video contest winners to receive prizes

Twenty taekwondo clubs have been selected as winners of the “I Love taekwondo” contest which was launched by the Korean Embassy in September, this year.

The clubs are, Accra Polythecnic Taekwondo Academy, Astoria, Demonstration School for the Deaf Taekwondo, Hill View, Madina Taekwondo and Marpro Taekwondo Clubs.                                                  

The rest are Meghis, Our Lady of Mercy Senior High School, Pippas, Power Kix, Prixmax Warriors Martial Arts, Queenscourt Taekwondo Academy, Ramgoon, Solomon Bennett Memorial Taekwondo, Sos-Hermann Gmeiner School, State School For The Deaf Taekwondo, Sunyani Taekwondo Club, Tema Technical Institute Taekwondo, Wam Taekwondo Academy and Prisons Taekwondo Club.  

 

Three top clubs out of the 20 will, however, be honoured with the gold, silver and bronze awards during the Korea Cup Taekwondo Championship.

Mr Frederick Lartey Otu, president of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), told the Graphic Sports, the novel taekwondo competition is aimed at encouraging the youth to develop keen interest in the sport.

He said the video contest was sponsored by Rana Motors and the participants were taekwondo practitioners and clubs across the country, who sent a 30-second video clip on their perspectives about taekwondo to the organisers for verification, after which 20 out of the lot were selected as winners.
