Sports College, NASFAAG to hold Advanced Level Fitness Instructors’ Course

The National Sports College in Collaboration with the National Sports For All Association – Ghana (NASFAAG) will organize a 13-day Advanced Level Fitness Instructors’ Course for Level 1 Physical Instructors from February 28 to March 12, 2021, at the National Sports College-Winneba.

According to NASFAAG President, Nana Adu Mankattah II, the course is the highest level of fitness certification and will be taught by experienced resource persons including Dr Emmanuel Osei Sarpong (Senior Lecturer, University of Education-Winneba), Dr Emmanuel Asaase (Lecturer, University Of Ghana-Legon) and Reverend Richmond Quarcoo (National Course Director, FISA Training Expert).

Course participants

Speaking to GraphicOnline in a telephone interview, Nana Mankattah II said the course was open to applicants who hold a Level I Fitness Instructors’ certificate or its equivalent, graduates and/or continuing students from UEW (HPERS) who have taken the physical Fitness for healthy living course, physical instructors and gym instructors.

He added that a basic course will also be organized for gym instructors who wish to become certified.

He said after registering at a cost of Gh¢100, applicants would be required to pay a Gh¢1,200 fee which covers tuition, feeding and accommodation.

He mentioned that the course covers Anatomy & Physiology, Exercise planning, Preparation and Delivery, Health Awareness, Lifestyle Management, Appraisal and Risk Assessment, Providing Positive Customer Experience and Practicals.
