Seven Great Princes Sports Festival set for February 7

All is set for this year’s Seven Great Princes Sports Festival which begins on February 7 and climaxes on February 9.

 
After a hectic training regimen at the Karikari Brobbey Park in Dansoman and the Kaneshie Sports Complex, the three teams representing the two branches of the school are ready to go at each other for trophies and honours.
 
The competition commences with athletics, volleyball, table tennis, tug-of-war, soccer and handball at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex at Kaneshie in Accra.
 
Indoor activities such as chess, ludo, oware, scrabble, basketball and squash would be staged at the school’s premises in Dansoman.
 
The two branches of the school, the Lartebiorkorshie branch in Ablekumah Central and the Dansoman branch at Ablekuma North would be competing for honours and awards.
 
A specially built multi-purpose sports complex for the competition at the school’s Dansoman premises is also expected to boost the morale of students competing.
 
The three-day-event held annually is geared towards scouting for talents for the national cause while strengthening the physical health status of students.
 
Former student and Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and table tennis ace Eric Amoah benefited are some of the products of the competition.
 
According to organisers Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng alias Ebony, afropop singer and a former student of the school is expected to grace the occasion and lighten up the atmosphere.
 
The competition climaxes at the Dansoman branch of the school on February 9 with awards and cash rewards for best sports girls and boys.
