The football club reported that the assault on their coach occurred "for picking up a point in a draw game against the home team Bofoakwa Tano."

The intense match in week 11 of the Ghana Premier League concluded with a goalless draw, securing Nsoatreman's second spot on the league table, surpassing Bofoakwa Tano, who had a commendable start to the 2023/2024 season.

In a distressing turn of events, Konadu, a former assistant coach of the Black Stars, wasn't the sole target of the fans' aggression in Sunyani. Referee Robert Musey and his assistants also reportedly fell victim to the physical attacks from Bofoakwa Tano supporters.

As of now, the Ghana Football Association has not issued a statement regarding the assault on Maxwell Konadu and the match officials, leaving the football community awaiting an official response to address this concerning incident.
