The Lipton bi-monthly golf tournament is in its fourth year and the Tema Country Golf Club is delighted to be hosting the second in the year with a massive review of the prizes to commensurate the input by golfers.
Officials of Univeler Ghana Limited, producers of Lipton, have announced an improved package for winners from the previous trophies and products to more golf-related prizes.
The Manager of the club, Nicholas Amoah, told the Daily Graphic, the announcement of enhanced rewards had attracted lots of crunch golfers from Bok Nam Kim, Celebrity, Achimota and the host club, Tema.
At least 80 golfers have already confirmed their participation for Saturday. They include sensational Eric Owusu (also known as Owusu E. K.), as well as Mona Myles-Lamptey (formerly called Mona Captan).
But with the history of the competition not favouring the big names, those on the periphery could pull surprises.
It’s been a while since the ‘apostle of Ghana golf, Peter Amenyo, won a topmost prize just as former captain of the Tema club, Kweku Okyere, and this weekend could mark their revival.
