Konadu, who was Grant’s deputy, will be assisted by Prof. Joseph Mintah who will also continue in his role as the team psychologist.

After meeting in Accra last Tuesday to review Grant’s tenure and deliberate on the vacant job, the FA’s executive committee (ExCo) tasked Mr Nyantakyi’s team to look for the next Black Stars coach. The search team comprise George Afriyie, vice president of the FA and chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee; Francis Oti Akenteng, Technical Director of the GFA; Samuel Opoku Nti, a former Black Stars player, and an ExCo member; Alex Asante, the FA’s Director of International Competitions, and a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports,

In finding a replacement for Grant, the recruitment team was tasked to either headhunt a competent coach or open applications to interested coaches, both locals and expatriates, to send in a formal request and supporting documents for the vacant position.

The ExCo directed that the new national coach to be appointed will also take charge of the home-based national team (Local Black Stars) which participates in CAF’s second-tier competition,  African Nations Championship (CHAN),

Meanwhile, the GFA in a press statement, indicated that after a lengthy discussion, Mr Prosper Harrison Addo had accepted to return as the chairman of the FA’s Disciplinary Committee after resigning last year. Other members of the committee are Eva Okyere, Godsway Glah and W.O. Amoo. A fifth person will be named in due course to join the committee.
