After last week’s thrilling encounters in the seniors’ league, this Saturday’s NDK-SAPHOLDA grudge clash is expected to take the game a notch higher while Trustees and Exchequers would spice the day’s fixtures at the National Hockey Stadium.
The Dwadifo Adanfo Greater Accra league is getting keener by the day and apart from Trustees which appear home and dry in the main league, none of the leaders in the other two categories are safe.
Two matches at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. respectively, involving NDK and SAPHOLDA and Exchequers against Trustees, will be the main measuring rod in assessing how receptive the league has been so far. And with the new rivalry established between NDK and SAPHOLDA, their clash could further heighten a perceived tension between the two.
None is giving anything to chance, and with just a point separating the two, both are expected to field their strongest squad yet.
However, Exchequers’ dwindling fortunes put them at the mercy of Trustees of SSNIT, who could stretch their lead to 21 points.
Trustees have proved too strong for the rest and literally run riot up to this stage but the battle is not over yet.
