According to Mr Agyebeng, Gyan has been cleared of all of Sarah's allegations by the Attorney General's (AG) department and has directed his legal team to take action against anyone who defames him in respect of the issue.

Gyan's lawyers, Cromwell Grey LLP, represented by the managing partner, Agyebeng, who spoke at a press conference in Accra yesterday at which Gyan was absent, said the Attorney General's department had "concluded that the rape and unnatural carnal knowledge allegations made by Sarah Kwablah against Asamoah Gyan are totally baseless and that the docket should be closed".

"We have the full instructions of Asamoah Gyan to take legal action against anyone who defames him in respect of this matter.

"As we sit here, Maurice Ampaw has already been sued in respect of one matter," Mr Agyebeng said, with regard to a pending defamation GH¢5 million suit on the disappearance of Gyan's friend, Theophilus Tagoe (Castro).

"It is going to open up and fresh suits will follow. He is already a defendant in a defamation issue with respect to Asamoah Gyan. With this matter there are going to be fresh suits against him. I can say categorically that as for him he is not going anywhere. Suits will be served on him."

Dr Maurice Ampaw, the legal representative of Sarah Kwablah, the lady involved in a legal dispute with Asamoah Gyan has dared the Black Stars skipper to drag him to court for defamation, insisting that he will continue to comment on the alleged rape and unnatural carnal knowledge case in the media.

In a swift response yesterday after Gyan’s legal team held a press conference to declare the player had been cleared of all Sarah Kwablah’s allegations of rape and sodomy, Dr Ampaw branded their statement as false, adding that he would not be gagged by threats of defamation suits made by Gyan's legal team.

"The docket has not been closed. My client, the complainant, has not been informed by the Attorney General's Department of any such development,” an excited Dr Ampaw told the Graphic Sports.

He continued, "Besides, Gyan, the accused is yet to give his statement to the Police CID. It's a lie. This press conference was just a propaganda tool; the case is still at the DOVVSU awaiting advice from the AG".

Dr Ampaw said he was "ever-ready" to meet Gyan in court any day, adding that if the AG dismissed the case, his client would proceed to the International Court and FIFA to seek reliefs.

He said, "They are joking; they should start dragging me now, I want a writ. We are even meeting at Circuit Court Nine on Thursday where he has accused my client of extortion”.

"We will produce the video and audio evidence of the rape in court on Thursday to further our defence against extortion”.
