Grass pitches bane of Karela--Coach Shaibu

Coach of Premier League side Karela United, Tanko Shaibu, is blaming the grass pitches as affecting the play of his players.

Speaking after their goalless draw game with Dreams FC last Saturday, the coach noted that transiting from astro turf to play on grass pitches was very problematic for his players.

He stated that they trained and play their games on astro turfs which they are familiar to.It,therefore, makes it difficult whenever they have to switch and play on a grass pitches.

 “I have noticed that my boys are finding it difficult to play on the grass because we are always playing and training on the Astro turf so I think we will work at that and in our subsequent matches, I think there will be some changes,” he added.

The coach also promised to help the team escape relegation from the top flight after he guided the team to play a goalless drawn game against Dreams FC last Saturday.

According to him, their target is to win all their home matches and also try to pick some points during their away games.

“Definitely, we are winning our home matches and our away matches, we will manage just like we did here today.Dreams is a formidable team but we managed to hold them”, he noted.
