Ashgold’s leading striker, Shafiu Mumuni, says the Miners are poised to win the maiden J.A Kufuor Annual Cup at the expense of regional rivals, Asante Kotoko, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.
The match, which is one of the initiatives of former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s Foundation, will see Kotoko and Ashantigold locking horns once again to honour the ex-President’s 80th birthday.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Ash FM, the Ashgold goal poacher revealed that the team is preparing adequately to record a win against Ghana's sole representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup.
"We (Ashgold) are training very well for the game against Kotoko on Sunday," he said and added: "We the players are very ready for the game on Sunday and we are going all out to win the trophy".
The match will be officiated by referee Maxwell Mensah from Koforidua and will be graced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
