Daniel Amartey ruled out of FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros

Ghana's national team, the Black Stars, will be without the services of Daniel Amartey for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros after the player failed a late fitness test. 

The Turkey-based player sustained a suspected hamstring injury during the match against Madagascar on Friday, prompting concerns about his availability for the crucial qualifier.

Despite undergoing MRI scans that did not reveal any apparent injury, Amartey's clinical progress, monitored closely by the medical team, has been slower than anticipated. As a result, he has been ruled out of contention for the match against Comoros.

Amartey, who plays for Besiktas, had a promising start in the opening game in Kumasi but had to be substituted due to a suspected hamstring issue, with Kasim Nuhu stepping in as his replacement.

The absence of Amartey poses a challenge for the Black Stars as they gear up to face Comoros at the Moroni Stadium on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The Ghanaian team will look to secure a positive result in the FIFA World Cup qualifier, but they will have to do so without the contributions of the experienced defender.
