The new agreement follows a successful 2012/13 season during which Citi FM broadcast talkSPORT’s commentaries and preview shows for the first time, talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports station has announced.
talkSPORT has an exclusive package of international audio broadcasting rights from the Premier League for the next three football seasons (2012/13 – 2015/16) and with the FA for the next five seasons, which allows the station to provide commentary around the world in multiple languages.
At the official unveiling of the Barclays Premiership 2013/2014 season in Ghana at a launch in Accra yesterday, the Managing Director of 97.3Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah, said: “Citi Fm is absolutely pleased to have the exclusive rights to carry the live radio commentary for the next three seasons in Ghana.
“This is sure to cement our position as Ghana’s number one sports radio brand, noted for innovative and relevant content for our teeming sports listeners.” he stated.
According to him, “this year’s commentary would be characterised by expect studio analysis and exciting listener promotions aimed at giving more value to sponsors and rewards to listeners.”
Jimmy Buckland, Director of Strategy, talkSPORT said: “Fans in Ghana are hugely passionate about their football and thanks to Citi FM and talkSPORT’s excellent commentary; they’ll be able to hear the biggest games from the most exciting football league in the world for the next three seasons.
