Chasing WPL tickets: Tamale Super Ladies lead in Northern zone

The quest to pick the available slots for the 2022-2023 Women's Premier League has begun in earnest at the two centres hosting the Women's Zonal Championships.

After Match Day Two in the northern zone played at Techiman Ohene Ameyaw Park, Tamale Super Ladies lead the six-team log with six points, having won their games against Dynamite Ladies of Kumasi (3-2) and Real Crusaders of Upper West Region (4:0).

Candy Soccer Academy from Dormaa Ahenkro came from behind to draw 3:3 with Dynamite Ladies to increase their points to four after winning their opening game 5:1 against Bolga All Stars.

The Bolga team also earned their first three points with a win on Match day two, beating Bagabaga Ladies by a lone goal.

The loss notwithstanding, Bagabaga are at the moment third ahead of All Stars in the standings, courtesy their 2:1 win in their opening game against Real Crusaders.

The competition will select two teams to play in the upcoming season's WPL.

Match day three fixtures will be played on Tuesday with Candy Soccer Academy playing Bagabaga Ladies in the first game, Dynamite Ladies and Real Crusaders will play in the second with the third game of the day seeing Tamale Super Ladies and Bolga All Stars in action.
