The outspoken tactician is displeased with life at cash-strapped Ashgold and is looking to swap Obuasi for Nairobi.

The former Black Princesses coach tendered in his application for the job through an agent based in Kenya.

Fans of Ashgold continuously called for his head over the course of the season when the defending champions just managed to escape relegation by the skin of their teeth.

Hayford is looking to become the second Ghanaian at AFC Leopards after striker Gilbert Fiamenyo.

Former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak Coach David Duncan have also been linked with the job at AFC Leopards.

The Leopards received more than 20 CVs since they announced a vacancy for the coaching job following the departure of Ivan Minnaert.

Every applicant for the head coach job is required to possess at least a Uefa License A or Caf A certificate plus experience in African football as an added advantage. The deadline for applications is October 12.
