After guiding the club to the elite division as Zone Three champions in the Division One League, the former Black Stars captain says Dreams FC have modest ambitions, but hopes to build on their experience in top flight football in subsequent seasons.

“Since we are a young and inexperienced side, it will be fair to say that we will work hard to stay in the league and avoid relegation,” he said.

In pursuit of their premiership dreams, the Kweiman-based Dreams FC have recurited six new players to augment the team ,but are retaining a good number of players that facilitated the team’s promotion to the elite league.

Last week, Dreams FC signed three players, namely Isaac Akrong (goalkeeper), Emmanuel Eli Keke (centre back) and Aaron Amoah (attacking midfielder) who joined the club from Wasaman FC, Mighty Jets and Moroccan side Codm Meknes respectively on three-year deals each.

A week earlier, Akonnor’s side had been boosted by the signing of Mozart Adjetey, David Korbah and Alhassan Kalusha, players the coach believes will add value to their debut premiership campaign.

Both the coach and the club’s chairman, Kurt Okraku, were focused also on producing the league’s top talents who will be in a good position to sweep awards at the end of the season.

Okraku, whose side have nurtured top-class talents, such as Chelsea’s Baba Rahman, Ben Tetteh of Standard Liege in Belgium, and John Antwi of Al-Ahly in Egypt, told the Graphic Sports he was confident that his team would make a big impression in the coming season.

“At Dream FC, we dream a lot, so our dream is to find our place in the league, while we nurture more talented players, just as we have been doing over the years”, he said.

Meanwhile, the management of the club will unveil new sponsors to the press on monday, November 23, at the club’s secretariat.
