National top seed, Derek Abrefa, and second seed, Felix Lartey, will feature prominently in the Chairman’s Cup tournament as they join other top players at the Dayaran Gangaram (D.G.) Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday to battle for honours.
Being the final competition for the year 2017, all the top table tennis players in the country are expected to be present.
The event will attract over 50 top professionals across the country, with the winners going home with a GH¢2,000 Christmas bonanza and other consolation prizes.
The Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, Saka Acquaye, Deputy Director General in charge of technical at the National Sports Authority (NSA), and the president of the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF), Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, are expected to grace the occasion.
The competition is being held in honour of the president of the GTTF and is sponsored by Stanbic Bank.

Meanwhile, some of the players have began training feverishly at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall in readiness for the competition.
When the Graphic Sports visited the hall last Monday, both male and female professionals were busy working out towards the tournament.
Mr Mawuko Afadzinu told the Graphic Sports yesterday that he expects a tough competition and wished all the participants the best of luck.
