The race to determine who becomes the next President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) will have to wait following the postponment of the Elective Extraordinary Congress originally scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026.
According to a press statement signed by Ghana Boxing IMC Chairman Samir Captan, a number of key factors including inadequate funds and non-completion of the vetting process have necessitated a shift of date.
In consultation with the National Sports Authority (NSA) and Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the decision was therefore taken to ensure that no candidate is disenfranchised and that the vetting process is conducted thoroughly, transparently and in strict adherence to the GBA Constitution.
