One Man Supporter rallies support for Black Stars
He said Ghana currently had a youthful team; hence, Ghanaians must not waver in their support for the team, irrespective of their performance at the Qatar World Cup.
“Just as the Argentines waited for 36 years before winning the World Cup, patience is key to ensuring that we get the needed results.
"We have to bide our time and wait for the Black Stars to deliver us the cup with this youthful team,” he noted.
Mr Boakye, popularly referred to as ‘One Man Supporter’ in football circles, said the football fraternity and supporters union would continue to support the Black Stars.
“The Black Stars won only one match in Qatar, which is not the best, but looking at the way they played, there is a bright future for them and the team must be kept intact,” he appealed.
He charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to hire a competent coach for the Black Stars and added that such a coach must be of a world-class standard.
“The new Black Stars coach must show courage and avoid influence from the FA or any other authority or body to ensure we get quality players to make the team gel and perform well on the international stage,” he stressed.
He said the Supporters Union would continue to marshal supporters across the country to support the Black Stars.
