USA Ambassador thrilled over win

He may not have had his prediction right, but the US Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Gene Cretz, is happy that his national team finally broke Ghana's hold on them at the 2014 World Cup by beating the Black Stars  2-1  last Monday.

Joined by several Americans in Ghana to cheer their team  in a make-shift stadium at his residence, Mr Cretz, who had predicted a 3-2 win for his side, was clearly overjoyed and relieved that this time, they had it right.

"It is such a big relief that our boys finally won. It was no easy match," Ambassador Cretz told the Daily Graphic.

Perhaps imagining what was happening among the American fans all over the world, the well-represented crowd at the ambassador's residence simultaneously jumped for joy as Brook scored the winner from a well taken corner kick with just seconds to end the game.

While they celebrated their goal, they admitted the Black Stars were unlucky not to have at least earned a point as they worked hard and perhaps, were the better side on the night.
