Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the Black Statellites by guiding the team to victory against their Gabonese counterparts in the first leg of the African Youth Championship qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium Sunday.
Endowed with several talented players from Ghana’s Premier League, the Satellites will line up an array of stars such as skipper Owusu Bempah of Accra Hearts of Oak, New Edubiase United's Asiedu Attobrah, Samuel Afful of Sekondi Hasaacas, as well as Benjamin Tetteh of Tudu Mighty Jets for the important battle.
And despite the absence of influential midfielder Clifford Aboagye due to club commitments, his teammates remain determined to come out with a convincing result to gain an advantage ahead of the return leg encounter.
Having led the Satellites to win the 2009 World Youth Championship in Egypt and again guiding the team to third place at last year’s world tournament in Turkey, Coach Tetteh will be under enormous pressure to build a winsome side capable of replicating the achievements of their illustrious predecessors.
The coach remains optimistic about the team’s chances tomorrow after supervising their training in Accra and recording some impressive results in warm-up matches
Coach Tetteh is expected to rely on skipper Bempah to lead his colleagues, with support from Benjamin Tetteh and Samuel Afful.
The Satellites, three-time African champions, will be difficult to stop on home soil, especially after beating Sierra Leone back-to-back in the qualifiers, and drawing 1-1 with Namibia's U-23 side in a friendly ahead of this game.
