Medeama shocked league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko with a 1-0 defeat in Accra on Sunday to earn the right to represent the nation in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup, in addition to bagging a whopping GH¢50,000 in support from MTN for the African campaign and GH¢30,000 cash prize.

An elated Mr Armah told the Daily Graphic yesterday that the FA Cup triumph would motivate Medeama to snatch two more trophies available for the taking in the coming weeks.

For winning the FA Cup, Medeama have booked a Super Cup (Champion of Champions) date with Kotoko, aside having a SWAG Cup date with Hearts of Oak, both at the Accra Stadium.

“Medeama fans should expect more trophies because we are going to beat Kotoko and Hearts in the Super Cup and SWAG Cup match respectively to make them much happier,” Mr Armah assured.

Having compensated their sponsors — Gold Fields Ghana Limited and Ghana Manganese Company — with the FA Cup trophy after losing the league title to Kotoko earlier, Mr Armah, aka Mospacka, said the next line of action was to secure funds from the sponsors to recruit five experienced players to beef up the team for the African campaign.

“We need about five experienced players to strengthen the team and we will be ready for Africa and also put up a good challenge for the league title next season,” he revealed.
