Only two weeks after Hearts of Oak striker, Mahatma Otoo, completed his move to Norwegian side, Sogndal, he has already grabbed the headlines and is becoming the favourite of the fans after just three matches.
The youngster played his first full 90 minutes last Saturday and easily stole the show as he capped a brilliant afternoon with the best assist which provided his side with the winning goal.
With that performance, the 21-year-old has managed to warm his way into the hearts of Norwegian fans even though he is yet to extend his brilliant scoring form into the Norwegian territory.
Just last week, Otoo was voted man-of-the-match in their game against Aalesund, who occupy the third spot on the Norwegian league table.
In a telephone interview with Graphic Sports last Sunday, Mahatma said he was thrilled by the love displayed towards him so far by the Norwegian fans and said he would reciprocate the gesture with hard work.
It appeared the player had justified the confidence reposed in him by Coach Jonas Olsson, who was personally in Accra to watch Mahatma perform in a couple of games and insisted on signing the player.
Indeed, Coach Olsson did not allow the player to return to Ghana after signing the contract and asked him to train with the team the next day.
Subsequently, Coach Jonas Olsson, gave him playing time when he introduced him as a substitute in one of their games.
