The homesters began the match in a determined bid to find an early opener, with winger Thomas Abbey and strikers Gilbert Fiamenyo and  Otoo leading the assault in  their opponents area as Dwarfs struggled to hold them back.

The Phobians’ probings finally paid off in the 31st minute when Otoo finished off a  two-man move between himself  and Fiamenyo as the Hearts captain sliced the ball past Dwarfs’ goalkeeper Foli Adade for the match winner.

Dwarfs were undaunted and took the fight back to their opponents in search for the equaliser, but the Phobian defence pivoted around Nuru Sulley and Robin Gnagne remained resolute to end the first-half 1-0 in their favour.

Both teams came back from the recess rejuvenated, but it was Hearts who brought on Obed Ansah and Ashietey Ollenu for Joesph Mugri and Fiamenyo in the latter minutes of the game, but Owusu Bempah and Abbey missed the target in the dying minutes of the game.
